What to do if your experiencing Hail Damage

Venting your roof is the first step towards climate control in your home.

Are you currently experiencing problems with attic moisture?

The Owens Corning VentSure® Ridge Vent System is a continuous exhaust system designed to expel heat and moisture from the attic.

It operates alongside undereave soffit vents to allow continuous airflow, preventing wood rot, mold, and ice dams.

Your home’s ecosystem could be affected by the ventilation on your roof.

Has your home felt stuffy, humid, or can’t maintain heat well in the winter? If so, you might need to check out the information we have below.

At Oliwill Construction, with flexible financing options, we can jump-start your project while comfortably spreading the financial impact.

VentSure® Component Breakdown

  • External Baffle: Directs wind across the top of the vent to create a vacuum effect, pulling hot air and moisture out. The rigid baffle also serves to deflect wind-driven rain and snow.

  • Weather PROtector® Moisture Barrier: An internal membrane featured in specific rolled versions that prevents fine mist and snow from infiltrating the attic while still allowing air to escape.

  • Corrugated Plastic Core: The structural backbone of the vent. The rigid plastic allows it to support the weight of cap shingles without crushing or buckling, ensuring a continuous airway.

Installation Details

  • Roof Slot: A 1.25″ to 2.5″ slot is cut symmetrically along the roof peak, stopping 6 inches short of the rake edges.

  • Nailing: The vent must lie flat and be securely nailed over the slot. Gaps larger than 1/8 inch should not be left during cold-weather installations.

  • Caps: The vents are shingle-over designs, meaning standard cap shingles are installed directly over the vent to maintain a sleek, uninterrupted roofline.
